Trainers

The trainers have many years of teaching experience with doctoral and postdoctoral scholars from across Europe. They are experts on teaching & learning in Higher Education and in professional contexts (training of trainers), as well as on innovative teaching & learning methods in theory and in practice.

 

Dr. Benjamin Carver

Dr. Ben Carver has worked as a lecturer in literary and cultural studies in the UK and Denmark and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research interests are the differences between scholarly and more public forms of writing, as well as the formation of genre and taste. He misses in-person teaching and is interested in whether the lecture and the seminar will ever be the same again.

 

Nicola Hargreaves

Teacher for English for Academic Purposes in the EUI Language Centre, Nicola Hargreaves graduated in languages from the University of Otago. Her research interests lie in academic writing, scholarly legal writing, public speaking skills, and teaching and learning.

 

Dr. Jeanette Lilley

Teaching and Learning Officer in the EUI Academic Service, Jeanette Lilley has has a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Nottingham (UK) and more than 30 years’ experience of research and teaching in higher education. Her special interests are in interdisciplinary research, in the professional and career development of doctoral researchers, in problem-based learning and in e-learning design.
